Hot 8 Brass Band, Free Agents Brass Band, The Original Pinettes Brass Band, To Be Continued Brass Band, and Baby Boyz Brass Band with a special guest performance by Glen David Andrews all under one roof to benefit local cause Trumpets NOT Guns at InthekNOwla.com Presents Heritage: A Brass Band Celebration! Hosted by Treme actor, comedian, and native New Orleanian Tony Frederick with music by Definition DJ Chris Stylez, InthekNOwla invites you to come enjoy the culture of New Orleans! Join InthekNOwla.com at Heritage: A Brass Band Celebration on Friday, January 20, 2012. Doors open at 8:00pm with performances starting at 8:30pm at 12 Bar on Fulton St. (608 Fulton St.). Tickets are $12 in advance online and $15 at the door. Tickets are limited, and advance purchase is highly recommended. King cakes from Haydel's, beer from NOLA Brewing, cocktails from Old New Orleans Rum, handkerchiefs from Purple Monkey, raffles from Varion Laurent, Ayo Scott, Peaches, Louisiana Music Factory, Olive Branch Cafe, Magnolia Makeup, and Sun Ray Bar and Grill! Proceeds from the event will go to local cause Trumpets NOT Guns, founded by Lisa and John Grillot with the support of local musician and celebrity spokesman Glen David Andrews. Trumpets NOT Guns raises money musically to provide local New Orleans youth with trumpets and other musical instruments in an effort to keep them out of the violence of the city.
